Eveon offers first online opportunity to buy containers online
DUTCH startup Eveon stands to revolutionise the way containers are bought and sold by simply devising means so the transaction can be conducted entirely online, reports Copenhagen's Sea-Intelligence.
The market works in non-digital and non-transparent way, and prices are not published, said the Eveon statement.
"Even when prices are published, companies will have to make written or telephone enquiries to the trader first," it said.
"All this changed with the launch of Eveon in Hamburg last October. This enabled customers to buy containers without intermediaries on the Eveon website and have the containers delivered to their location," it said.
"The business model allows empty containers to be used where they are unloaded, which saves tons of CO2 emissions that are produced when empty containers are shipped back to their place of origin," said Eveon.
"Within four months Eveon has grown rapidly, opening six new locations in Germany and already aiming to expand internationally in the coming months," the company said.
