Release time: 2026-03-11   Browsing:172次
As tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz becomes obstructed, multiple international shipping companies have successively issued emergency operational adjustments and force majeure declarations. They have suspended or adjusted certain Middle East routes, implemented rerouting or alternative port discharges, and explicitly stated that all resulting additional costs and associated risks shall be borne by the shippers.
Evergreen Marine Corporation hereby announces the formal invocation of force majeure with effect from 28 February 2026. All cargo originally destined for over ten countries and ports in the Middle East will be diverted to alternative ports for discharge. New bookings for these ports have been suspended. It is the responsibility of the shippers to cover all risks and expenses. CMA CGM is currently implementing measures to ensure the safe and timely delivery of cargo bound for major Middle Eastern ports. This includes the rerouting of affected shipments and the implementation of emergency unloading procedures, if necessary. There are three handling options available: emergency port delivery, overland transshipment, or destination change. All additional costs will be borne by the customer.
Wan Hai Lines has initiated emergency response measures for cargo destined for multiple Middle Eastern ports, adjusting sailing schedules and diverting shipments to alternative ports when necessary. All resulting expenses shall be borne by the shipper, with related surcharges payable prior to cargo release. Hong Kong Container Lines has taken the decision to terminate certain affected voyages, with a mandatory surcharge of USD 500 per affected container being imposed. It is the responsibility of the cargo owner to cover all costs and risks associated with emergency unloading.
