On January 20th local time, CMA CGM issued an official notice stating that in light of the complex and volatile international situation, it has decided to redirect vessels on the FAL1, FAL3 and MEX services from the Red Sea-Suez Canal route to sail via the Cape of Good Hope. These three services were the first to resume transiting the Suez Canal last year, and now they are withdrawing once again. CMA CGM noted that it will conduct regular reassessments of this decision.Prior to this, Maersk had announced the resumption of its MECL service through the Suez Canal, and the 2M Alliance (Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd) also plans to restart the ME11 service's passage through the Red Sea and Suez Canal. With multiple carriers adjusting their Red Sea routes recently, shippers and freight forwarders are reminded to verify the latest sailing schedules and freight rates before shipment and make advance shipping arrangements.
