Due to the heavy snowfall and cold wave, operations at several major ports in Northern Europe have been disrupted. The Eurogate, CTA and CTT terminals in Hamburg have all been affected to varying degrees. Among them, the Eurogate and CTA terminals have completely suspended operations. Water operations at the CTA terminal have resumed but are inefficient, while railway and road freight at the CTT terminal remain suspended. There are minor disruptions to cargo transportation at the Eurogate terminals in Wilhelmshaven and Bremerhaven and the NTB Bremerhaven terminals. Operations at the Rotterdam ECT Delta terminal have been completely suspended. On January 6th, Hapag-Lloyd announced a decline in operational efficiency at the Port of Antwerp, with partial or temporary suspension. On January 7th, Maersk reminded that the severe winter weather in Northern Europe was affecting key terminals and the inland transportation network, and advised customers to pick up their containers as soon as possible to reduce congestion. It is expected that the impact on port operations will continue in the coming days, and delays in vessels and cargo may occur.
