Us Route: Peak season advanced! The freight rate in June and July may reach 7,000 US dollars!
After the adjustment of tariff policies between China and the United States, the demand for freight transportation to the United States has risen, and freight rates on major routes have also increased one after another. According to the latest data from SCFI, the Composite Freight Rate Index stands at 1,586.12 points, up 7.21% from the previous period. Shipping companies such as MATSON and Evergreen Marine (EMC) have all announced price hikes. The freight rate per standard container for the US West Coast route may reach $6,000, and for the US East Coast route, it may reach $7,000.
Some analysts believe that the increase in freight rates is due to the fact that the capacity and empty container resources of the routes were reallocated to other routes in the previous period, which has led to the current tight capacity on the US route. It is expected that this trend will continue until the end of August, and it may continue to rise rapidly before the end of June, reaching a relatively high level before the growth rate slows down.
