The United States announced a 10% tariff on Chinese goods.
US President Trump signed an executive order on the 1st, imposing a 10% tariff on goods imported from China. This latest trade protection measure by the US has been widely opposed both in the international community and within the country.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry previously stated that China has repeatedly made its position clear, always believing that there are no winners in a trade war or a tariff war. China will always firmly safeguard its national interests. Tariff measures are not only detrimental to both China and the US, but also to the entire world.
According to the executive order, the US will also impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and Canada, with a 10% increase in tariffs on energy products from Canada.
