Less than a week after the container explosion accident on a container ship at Beilun III Terminal in Zhoushan, Ningbo on August 9, another container ship in port operation caught fire again!
At about 4:30 on the morning of August 15, the center received an alarm: a large foreign cargo ship docked at Shekou Container Terminal, a container fire on board!
On August 12, OOCL issued the warning notice of the Maritime Safety Bureau and the reminder and relevant regulations on the declaration of dangerous goods.
OOCL specifically emphasizes in the announcement: Once any omission, concealment or misdeclaration of dangerous goods is found, USD30,000 penalty will be charged per container.
