One Shipping has been informed: Nearly one-third of the container terminals in Chittagong, Bangladesh's largest container port, were unused each day this month as lower number of arriving vessels.
The situation is the complete opposite of normal period, in the past, Chittagong used to face the problem of vessel congestion and long queues of vessels in the outer anchorage.
It is known that, Chittagong has ten dedicated terminals for container ships and six for bulk carriers.
The berthing report of Chittagong in Bangladesh shows that two terminals are still unused on 18th September, while three terminals were unused on the previous day. In addition, during the period from 3rd and 14th of September, an average of one to two terminals were unused.
