TOTAL cargo throughput of Shenzhen Port reached 59.68 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2022, including over 47 million tonnes of foreign trade cargo, reports Xinhua.

In the first three months of the year, the port also saw its container throughput exceed 6.48 million TEU.

Meanwhile, the port has taken stringent prevention and control measures against the Covid crisis, while safeguarding its smooth operation.

It has launched a fast water route to supply Hong Kong with materials and multiple shipping routes to North America and Europe.

The port's Yantian harbour area has added seven international routes this year.
